In 2014 over 6% of students attending University and living away from home were targeted by thieves. Mobile phones and other electronic equipment topping the list.

Over 50% of all student have incorrect cover or no cover in force whilst attending University.  The average student has over £2000 worth of technical equipment with them, making them attract to thieves. With IT equipment being made more readily available and in most cases, a vital requirement when studying particular subjects, this figure will continue to increase.
