Queen Elizabeth II – Longest Reigning Monarch

Queen Elizabeth II on the 9th September 2015, became the longest reigning British monarch, exceeding her great Grandmothers (Queen Victoria) previous record.

Well-wishers from around the World have paid tributes, sending congratulation messages to her, these included Prince William (Grandson) and the Prime Minister.

The Queen spoke briefly to a crowd in the Scottish Borders saying  “Inevitably a long life can pass by many milestones, my own is no exception but I thank you all and the many others at home and overseas for your touching messages of great kindness,”.

During Queens reign she has dealt with 12 British Prime Ministers and 7 Roman Catholic Popes. She is also the oldest reigning monarch and is only 1 or 2 female monarchs alive today.

Even though her duties have reduced, she still manages to work hard, opening new buildings and visiting heads of state from all corners of the World.

T&R Direct would like to congratulate the Queen.
